Perfect Drive

Great weekend for the Air Force Falcons' hockey team. They swept the Canisius Golden Griffins, 3-1 Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.

Air Force currently sits in 2nd place in Atlantic Hockey 3 points clear of 3rd place Mercyhurst and 9 back of 1st place Niagara. While, with only 8 points remaining they can't catch Niagara, the only thing that matters is finishing in the top 4, earning a 1st round bye in the playoffs and hosting a 2nd round series. The Atlantic Hockey Final 4 will be held in Rochester, NY so top seed only earns you last change in the championship game.

Here are a few more shots of this weekend's action:

Jason Torf enjoying a laugh after getting run
in the 2nd period of the Falcons' 3-1 victory on Friday.
Damn ref always ruining the fun is yelling at the boys
to quit a celebratin' and get back to a playin' hockey.
Captain Stephen Carew chats with the ref
as the miscreant Golden Griffins plot their further misdeeds.
Hey! I.M. Hipp you ain't real!
Arty shot of Casey Kleisinger on a breakaway.
Air Force closes out the regular season this Friday and Saturday with a pair on the road at R.I.T. and at home against league leader Niagara on March 1st & 2nd. General admission tickets are just $3 for both Niagara games. So head on out and watch some good quality grinder hockey at the Cadet Ice Arena.

Non-stop! Just look at me go! Just look at me!
On a side note, I managed to drive the entire 19.2 miles home from Friday night's game without hitting a stop light and only slowing, and slightly at that, one time! It was the Zen driving moment of all Zen driving moments that abruptly ended when I was locked out of the house in 13 degree weather. Numb hands and a really cold face were my reward after the half hour it took to get in and that kind of took the glow off that perfect drive. Damn buzzkill.

My magical route home from the Cadet Ice Arena.
I didn't stop once! NOT ONCE!
BTW. The next night I hit 4 red lights and the drive took about 10 minutes longer.
