Turn on NBC Sports Network (DirecTV 220, Dish 159, Comcast 55) right...about..now (kickoff between 420-430pm MST)! It's the 101st Grey Cup from Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan! The hometown Saskatchewan Roughriders take on th Hamilton Tiger-Cats for the a big Grey Cup! Hell yeah! Canadian Football!

As a bonus  the pop group Hedley will perform the 2013 Grey Cup halftime show and that The Sheepdogs will perform during the opening ceremonies and Serena Ryder will sing the national anthem (a great big bullshit call out to you if you nodded your head knowingly to any of these performers).

Right now:

USA v Canada in rugby union action on Universal Sports (DirecTV 625/Dish 402). Runs until about 700pm MDT, but the US is getting thumped 27-6 with just a bit to play. So watch at your own peril (unless you're a Canadian).

Rockies at Baltimore - 500pm to after 800ish MDT on Root Sports (DirecTV 683/Dish 414/Comcast 35). Rockies are taking a thumpin', down 7-1 in the 3rd.

700pm MDT - Rapids host Vancouver on Altitude (DirecTV 681/Dish 410/Comcast 56). New players Gabriel Torres and Vicente Sanchez add some spice to one of the hottest teams in the MLS. 

800pm on KKTV Channel 11 - BRONCOOOOOOOOOOOSSS! Take on the Seahawks. Manning may play a quarter+ tonight so it's worth watching for that.

1030pm - NRL Rugby, Warriors v Panthers, on Fox Sports 2 (Fuel TV DirecTV 618/Dish 398/Comcast 128). Not the greatest game, but it is the NRL and it is LIVE from Australia, so watch it dammit!

1230am - AUSSIE RULES on Fox Sports 2! Yup! It's back on a TV channel that more than 3 people can get! Bulldogs v Crows!

I, For One, Welcome Our New Canadian Overlords

Two of Canada's finest, Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole, our bringing their talents to Fox Sports 1 later this Summer. Good? Yes. Hella-funny? Yes. Don't take sports too seriously? Hell yes!

Fox Sports 1 replaces the Speed Channel on August 17 and will compete against sport's giant ESPN. Please, please, please don't suck. And Fox, let these boys do their thing. Give them a 5 minute Canadian Corner each show to keep them from getting homesick. Please! Still, anything's better than what ESPN has become, the shout-a-thon all Tebow love fest.

Will this schtick work in the states? God we hope so. Take the piss out of the holier than thou sports broadcasting industry and bring some fun back to the games. Good day Jay. Good day Dan. How's it goin' eh? No need for toques in LA. Best of luck fellows! PengoSports will be watching.
