Sweet Double Play Pic!

The last picture of what would have been a sweet series
with Drew Garcia turning the double play over Sacramento's
Anthony Aliotti. Someone, or something, got in my way.

Okay. Maybe not. Stupid umps. Always ruining my shots.

So anywho...here's a cat lady that was at last night's game:

This was my dream...
this is my nightmare.
What do you say Intern Dan?

Red shirt? Space condo? Space phone?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Dammit! They got to you too! Be gone! Away now! Back to Jersey with your own nerd-self! (though I did hear you kind of like that "cat thang" she had going on. Good for you if that's what you're into. Now, still be gone! You sick bastard!)

ICE CREAMS!!!

Last night, during the 2:18 rain delay before the umps bagged the game, the boys in the press box, led by Jersey Dan the Intern Man along with Marty and Rich, decided to go on a little field trip and FINALLY GET SOME GOD DAMN ICE CREAM!

Walking in the rain to get ice cream at Costco?
Hell yes! It's ICE CREAM!
(Marty, Rich and Smilin' Dan).
Dan and Marty slogging it through jungle and the rain.
There were dangers everywhere! Lightning, flooded streets, ooshie sod and crazy drivers. But, after many close calls with death, or just the wet, we finally made it to Costco!

Sure is a big store, bet they have a shit-ton of ice creams!
We blew past Costco security and headed straight for the promised land.

Deep discussion on which variety pack to purchase.
Grandpa Marty approves!
The choice was the 40 pack with Drumsticks,
Ice Cream Bars and Crunch Bars. A fine selection indeed.

It was time to head back, but first a photo:

ALL HAIL ICE CREAM!
By this time the rain had let up and Dan was worried he be late for the tarp pull...

Run Dan! You're going to get yelled at!
Well, Dan made it back in time for the tarp pull, but not before Marty snitched on Dan to security for bringing outside food into the stadium and Dan had to pay a toll of one Drumstick to secure his freedom.

Huge props to Dan for stepping up and buying the ice cream. And a big "suck it" to all the vampires who descended on the box without so much as a thank you to Dan for supplying it. Hope you all got the shits from it.

The Tarp Kilt

Rain delays suck. I lose my light and the game goes way late into the night for those that have to stay (not saying that I'm one of "those" but I do sympathize with their plight). Good food in the press box makes things less worse, last night things were not less worse, but still, you can only eat so much before that sucks too.

So last night, just before first pitch, here comes the rain to a collective groan in the box. And with the rain comes the damn tarp (games wouldn't be delayed if the infield tarp had never been invented. They'd just call the game and we could escape earlier), but this time with the tarp pull come the scoreboard tease of "The Tarp Kilt"! Hey! Something different! What is this "Tarp Kilt" pray tell?

Sweet! Something to distract us during the rain delay!
Dammit! It's just Hot Dog Brien (Keith on the left) in a kilt
helping to pull the tarp! No braveheart. No Whiskey.
Just Keith in a Kilt. Crap! That is a let down!
Okay. So that went nowhere, how about Jersey Dan? Dan did a little jig and broke out the Jazz Hands on a tarp pull back in June. Would he do it again? You know, just to liven things up a bit? For the boys trapped in the press box?

NO! There are his hands but they ain't Jazzin'!
And that's not a little jig. That's just a sad,
wet man from Jersey standing on a tarp.
The rain finally stopped and they rolled the tarp off the field. By the time the game started I was at Hooters watching the crappy Broncos/49ers preseason game and drinking a Beer(s).

Roll that tarp! Roll it good! Yeeeehawwww!

Ice Cream Dan

Yo! Jersey Dan! The intern man. This season is dwindling down and we are still a little short on the ice cream in the press box. A little short as in NO ICE CREAM AT ALL! Come on (ice cream) man! Stand and deliver!

GET! US!. SOME! ICE CREAM! OR ELSE!
We'll make this easy for you Dan.
Either you get us some ice cream, or you wear this
little number until the end of the season. Capisce?
Now, to more pressing matters, I swear I saw two dudes that looked like Ernest Hemingway at the Sky Sox game on July 13th. Really. But when I went to take their pictures I could only find one of them, so here he is...
Ernest Hemingway on Ernest Hemingway Night
at Security Service Field at Mile High.

Hey Papa. Where's your other bad self?
Oh, and Lemur Man?
Kind of like earlier in the year when I saw a Lemur Man walking into the ballpark. He was an older dude with a cane, white hair and a beard who looked just like a lemur. Hell. He may have been an actual lemur. I don't know. But damn, he did have a lemur-thing going on from the waist up. Well, everyone laughed at me. Called me crazy. Didn't believe there was a Lemur Man because I couldn't find him again to take his picture. We'll see who's crazy when the Lemur Man goes on one of his rampages and proves me right. It's going to happen. It's only a matter of time.

Lemur Man thinks of nothing but murder all day long.
(though the Lemur Man I saw did not have a tail)

Don't Sit There

Just a heads up, don't sit in these seats.

These seats? They just don't look safe.
Just to confirm this we asked our own Jersey Devil, Sky Sox PR intern Dan Kopf:

How about it Dan? Safe?
Heck no! Them seats ain't safe!

They're not even "Jersey Safe" if you know what I mean.
We can dig it Dan! We shall seek seating elsewhere. Now let's celebrate with a picture of Sky Sox reliever Coty Woods slapping Rockies super-phenom Nolan Arenado in the face during a walk off celebration.

Yea! We win! SMACK!
